I was told that people like him commit crime
I was told to fear people like him
I was told people like him are not like me
I was told people like him are terrorists

I was told that people like him are not protected by laws
I was told that my rights do not protect people like him
I was told my due process was not his due process
I was told people who protect due process are people like him
I was told people like them are domestic terrorists

I was told protecting due process was terrorism
I was told terrorism was wearing a frog costume
I was told naked people on bikes are the real threat
I was told people like them were ruining my country
I was told people like them wanted chaos

I was told the images that people like them showed were fake
I was told questioning the scene unfolding was wrong
I was told they are accountable for not staying home safe
I was told they made us do this
I was told to not believe my eyes

I was told people like me are defending the process
I was told people like me cannot be trusted
I was told people like me are criminals
I was told people like me are terrorists
I was told to pull over
